Faith.

Leadership.
Faith, advocacy, and communication come
together to transform lives.
Dr. Ándrea M. Moore gives all credit to God and the Christian-based rearing of her parents for Christ-centered mindset. Ándrea confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at the Church of Christ in Ruleville, Mississippi under the leadership of her father. Since that time, she has
actively pursued opportunities for spiritual growth and sharing her faith in Christ to all ages.
Dr. Moore is solution oriented. Ándrea is a product of the Mississippi Delta, one of the most impoverished areas in the nation. She saw the inequities and inequalities of the populations served by the church community, especially the youth. Ándrea seized an opportunity for the church to address issues of poverty that impacted the church community. In 2000, at the age of 18, she wrote a grant for a mentoring program and the Mentoring Program of Ruleville was born. This program continues its operation today and has reached over 150 youth in the Delta of Mississippi and engages mentees in activities to improve communication skills, problem solving skills, critical thinking, and expose them to career and collegiate opportunities. For its success, the program has received recognition from former Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour and Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
Professionally, Dr. Ándrea M. Moore is currently an Exceptional Children Specialist for a public school district in Tennessee. Ándrea is also an adjunct professor for a private university in Texas. She is a speech-language pathologist and obtained her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2007 and is licensed to practice in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, California, and Hawaii. Ándrea obtained her secular education from Delta State University (Cleveland, MS), The University of Memphis (Memphis, TN) and Nova Southeastern University (Davie, FL).
Dr. Moore prides herself on being a voice for those undeserved and those without a voice. Affectionately called ‘The Child Whisperer,’ Ándrea has had much success in helping children with disabilities find their voice. Ándrea is currently the inaugural chair of the Memphis Affiliate Chapter of the National Black Association of Speech-Language-Hearing (NBASLH). In this role, she has steered the chapter in advocacy of communication rights and representation for people of color. Under her leadership, the chapter is a two-time recipient of the Affiliate Chapter of the Year. Moore was honored as the 2024 Professional Advocate of the Year by NBASLH.
